Garden Tower Experiential Learning

Our Garden Tower, situated in our Learning Commons, provided for some excellent hands-on learning term one with Madame Hughes' grade 4 class being excellent vertical gardeners. We had multiple harvests of a variety of lettuce types as well as basil in our first growth cycle.

This month our grade 2/3 class lead by Ms Brawley will begin a new growth cycle trying  some new types of plants like tomatoes, chard, bok choy and arugula. We may plant some more basil  for the fresh scent that filled the learning commons when it was growing.   Our students learn  about planting cycles, light energy, water alkalinity, pump systems, liquid nutrition, growth rates and many more topics all while developing their green thumbs.  We thank our Family of School Superintendent, Brenda Wilson, for providing us with this excellent real world learning tool.
