With the assistance of the Ottawa Police, we ran a practice lockdown today during our lunch hour. This is more unstructured time for students and staff and offers us an excellent opportunity to see how our community responds to an emergency at times outside of regular scheduled classes.

Our students responded as expected, applying their knowledge of regular lockdowns to a lunch schedule, and performing up to expectation quickly and quietly following the protocols to ensure safety for all.

In the Fall, our community practiced a lockdown during class time and did exceptionally well. Teachers periodically review emergency procedures with their classes and throughout the year we practice a variety of emergency situations including fire drills and facility evacuations.
